Über den Blog von Robert bin ich auf ein echt cooles Tool gestoßen. Es nennt sich WritingPad swype und stellt eine andere Form der Texteingabe dar. Dabei werden T9 (bekannt vom Handy) mit der Aneinaderreihung von Buchstaben (ohne den Finger von der Tastatur zu nehmen) verbunden. Das heisst man Schreibt das gewünschte Worte in einem Zug und dabei entsteht zum Einen ein Strich und zum Anderen versucht das Programm die nächsten Tastatureingaben zu erraten. Derweil wurde auf der TechCrunch50 Conference eine ganz ähnliche Applikation vorgestellt. Sie nennt sich swype.

Pünktlich zum Verkaufsstart des iPhone 3G ist heute auch großer Tag der Updates bei Apple. So sind heute Software-Updates für Apples iPod touch und für das alte iPhone erschienen.

Doch wer sein Gerät heute aktualisieren wollte, musste schon sehr viel Glück mitbringen, dann die Leitungen glühten förmlich und brachten die Server zum erliegen. Vielerorts konnte die neue Firmware gar nicht herunter geladen werden. Mit dem Update geht morgen auch der neue App Store an den Start. Darüber wird es in Zukunft möglich sein neue Applikation zu kaufen bzw. zu laden.

Sehr interessant dazu der Bericht auf TechCrunch.com, in dem man spekuliert, dass Apple schon vor der “Eröffnung” satte Gewinne verzeichnet.

Gerüchten zu Folge wurde auch schon das OS des iPhone 2.0 geknackt. Das iPhone Dev Team versucht dies seit erscheinen der beta mit dem iPhone SDK und öffnet damit das Smartphone.

Endlich ist es soweit, werden sich hunderte iPhone-Sympathisanten denken. Denn heute war der Verkaufsstart des iPhone 3G. Dementsprechend groß war der Ansturm auf die T-Shops. Laut heise.de wurde heute etwa 15.000 Geräte verkauft.

Riesenandrang herrschte hierzulande in den Telekom-Läden. “Egal ob Hamburg, München oder Bonn, es ist überall rappelvoll”, schilderte eine T-Mobile-Sprecherin die Zustände.
